Ancient Chinese people farmed carp as early as 4500 B. C. The goldfish was actually evolved from the Ancient Chinese' carp. The Ancient Romans farmed oysters. However, today it is much more important. A few commonly farmed fish today are carp, bass, salmon, tilapia, oysters and mussels.
